Finding a quiet place to chit chat in the City of Chicago can be quite challenging-especially on a weekend night during just about any time of the year. So, if you're interested in a calm place
to dine and sip on wine, you might consider scheduling your date or girls night out on a weekday. Now, if you don't mind crowds, lots of chatter, and challenging parking situations, you can head
out to any of the wine bars on the list below on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night. Fortunately, no matter when you decide to go, there's a wine bar here for every style and budget.
As we ate, there was a Ninja that came around and did different magic tricks with decks of cards and coins. I have to admit he was not the best Magician, nor did he know any spectacular tricks. Maybe he should have just kept his job of being a Ninja. But overall it was very entertaining slow cooker pork belly watching him try. Antonia made crispy oysters and cilantro plantain jam for one of her two dishes. For the other, she fried yellow plantains and served them with spicy slaw. Lisa mixed plantains with pan roasted duck in a spicy mango papaya salsa. She also made a sweet plantain crispy fritter with a kumquat, orange, and cucumber salad. Richard made pork meatballs with ripe plantains for one dish and fried green plantain chips with ripe plantain salsa for the other.
